This Sonoma Residence is a favorite project of ours. The backdrop is spectacular and a setting that architects dream of. This cottage-style home is contemporary and keeping with its surroundings.
This residential design is unique to its landscape. This house is located in Hawaii right on the edge of both water and lava flow. Built on pillars, the house has sweeping views of the surrounding area with a spiral staircase flowing through the house. Sliding glass doors open to the balconies and patios that canvas the house. This residence is truly a masterpiece in its landscape.
This project involves a complete façade renovation for a designers' colony. Each unit is roughly 1,000 SF. The units are intended as starter studios for fashion designers and local artists. The front façade of the building is designed to be wrapped in angled wood paneling revealing large glass windows allowing light into the interior space.
This Site can only be afforded by 1% of Los Angeles Citizens.
Our culture, however, has figured out how to acquire what is beyond our means. Crowd Funding/Sourcing/Thinking has permeated our lives (Uber, ObamaCare, TEDxtalks). The future of LA is Crowd Living.
We have designed the Wealthy Favela, because in Los Angeles, homes replicate up hills. A house that affords the LA dweller(s) to Occupy an Icon and live the Californian indoor/outdoor style. A house built flexible enough for Roommates, Dual Families or a large Multi-Generation Family. The transformational abilities of the architecture allow the crowd to be the 1%.
This Seniors' Home required a total renovation of both the exterior and interior spaces. The exterior re-design included beautiful landscaping and community spaces while the interior saw a complete overhaul into stunning public spaces for all residents.
These renderings reflect RA's interior design for this residential space located in Santa Monica, CA. This remodel includes the installation of a custom designed glass wall running the length of the apartment along with a contemporary open floor plan. The custom designed curve bar provides practical seating along with an open engagement between the kitchen cooking area and the dining and living area.
The Sullivan Farmhouse is a straw bale construction. Built on an organic farm where temperatures consistently rise into the triple digits, a space was needed to sort vegetables, wash and prepare meals, and relax during the height of the sun. Straw seemed an obvious choice and the entire structure was built over one summer. Including the eco-sesitivity of the straw, the house has a slanted shed roof designed to reflect the majority of the sun and allow the cross-breeze to enter through the clerestory windows. The interior is an open floor plan with two columns acting as the divider between the kitchen and living space. A large picture window is placed with a view over the avocado farm.
