An approximately 15,000 SF rectangular dirt lot on the NE portion of the CA Endowments upper parking lot. The site abuts the Main Street along one side, with remaining three sides abutting the CA Endowment parking lot. The Site is curently completely fenced in and in need of a complete re-design in order to open up site ot he community.
This proposal includes a community basketball court with a superstructure providing a green canopy and lighting. The two courtswould activate the community and the green canopy would offer sustainble shading and a counter to much of the bllight that affects this area of downtown. We have designed two courts with a centrally located berm on the west side to relax while waiting for the next game. The superstructure is a series of aluminum poles and wires with vines and other crawling plants set at the base to allow for covered growth.
THE WIND AND THE WATER OF THE SITE ARE A STRONG INSPIRATION IN BEGINNING TO CONCEPTUALIZE THE DESIGN OF THE SENIOR LIVING UNITS AND FACILITIES. THE IMAGES ON THESE PAGES SERVE AS EXAMPLES OF SOME OF KEY COMPONENTS DESIRED IN THE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN: MATERIALITY, QUALITY OF LIGHT, FRAMING OF VIEWS AND INTEGRATION WITH LANDSCAPE. ADDITIONALLY, BLENDING TRADITIONAL MATERIALS AND FORM WITH CONTEMPORARY STRUCTURES AND QUALITIES WILL CREATE A STRONG SENSE OF PLACE. BY DEVELOPING AN ARCHITECTURAL STYLE THAT IS A MODERN IMAGINATION OF THE OTHER HOMES INTHE DEVELOPMENT WILL PROVIDE THE SENIORS WITH TWO IMPORTANT THINGS: A SENSE OF UNIQUE IDENTITY AND COMFORT KNOWING THAT THEY ARE RESIDING IN MODERN FACILITIES DESIGNED JUST FOR THEIR NEEDS AND SECURITY.
The Siren Cube is a 13,000SF Motion Picture Production Sound Stage with and additional 3,000 SF Annex of support space. Designed as part of the Siren Studios master plan, the Cube is the crown jewel of the Campus. The building was designed with sensitivity to shooting conditions not seen in Los Angeles. The building is over 40 FT tall on the exterior, making it the largest single story concrete structure without beams in the Western Hemisphere. It has the capability to shoot everything from high end magazine advertisements and commercials to full length feature films. A 25 FT square loading door will allow full mack-trucks to drive inside.

The trusses, with a clear finished height of 35 FT can support over 10,000 LBS of rigging, enough to hang 3 cars for a commercial shoot if necessary.
The walls are designed with recycled Styrofoam insulated concrete blocks, giving the interior an STC sound rating over 150.
The lighting is the latest in LED technology and actual house power requirements are less than a typical single family dwelling.
The entire site and building uses rainwater as a grey water to irrigate the planters.
The Annex and Cube are fully wired with fiber optics to allow instantaneous editing from remote locations.
The exterior façade is designed with concrete rain-screen panels that are interchangeable.
Currently, Artist Gregory Siff is creating a rendering of Sunset Blvd. on 12 panels which will be placed on the front of the building.
